Young people and those looking for a career change in North Wales are being encouraged to consider a new range of Welsh Government apprenticeship opportunities.
A total of 35 apprenticeships are being offered across Wales, providing the chance to earn while gaining valuable skills and experience working in the Welsh Government.
The opportunities cover a wide range of areas, including transport, tourism, energy and education, with roles available across different parts of the country.
For people in North Wales, the Welsh Government will hold recruitment events in Caernarfon and Llandudno Junction next month, giving potential applicants the chance to meet current apprentices and find out more about the scheme.
The Caernarfon event will take place on 15 September at Victoria Dock, while a second event will be held at the Welsh Government offices in Llandudno Junction on 16 September.
The Welsh Government has been running its apprenticeship scheme for a number of years, providing opportunities for people to develop their careers while contributing to public services.
Around 70 people were appointed through the most recent recruitment campaign.
Sam Faulkner, who began his career as a Welsh Government apprentice and is now the organisation's Apprenticeships and Early Talent Manager, said his own experience showed how an apprenticeship could open up new opportunities.
He said: “An apprenticeship opened the door for me. Now I get to hold it open for others.”
He said the scheme had given him confidence and the opportunity to make a difference, adding that someone had once believed in his potential and he now had the opportunity to do the same for others.
Former apprentice Tia Mais, who is now a User Researcher with the Welsh Government, said she had been unsure about her future after leaving school.
She chose a Digital, Data and Technology apprenticeship and said it allowed her to begin a career while learning and developing her skills.
She said the experience had helped her discover her potential, step outside her comfort zone and find a career she loves.
Deputy Minister for Skills and Tertiary Education Cefin Campbell said the Welsh Government was demonstrating its commitment to apprenticeships by offering opportunities across Wales.
He said apprenticeships were an important part of Wales' future skills system and encouraged people who had recently received their exam results, were leaving school or university, or were considering a career change to apply.
The new apprenticeship vacancies open for applications today, Monday 17 August, and will remain available throughout September.
The North Wales recruitment events will also provide an opportunity for prospective apprentices to speak directly to people already working within the Welsh Government and find out what an apprenticeship can offer.
For people considering their next step after their GCSEs or A-levels, as well as anyone looking for a fresh start in their working life, the Welsh Government says there could be an opportunity to gain qualifications, experience and a route into a long-term career.
