Match On: Seagulls keen to fly back into action today

Colwyn Bay's re-scheduled home game against Penrhyncoch is on today (Saturday 29 Feb) following a pitch inspection this morning. The Bay are keen to do everything possible to try and get the game played after three weeks without action.

Flint Town United's defeat at leaders Prestatyn Town last weekend has opened the door slightly for Colwyn Bay and Guilsfield to possibly mount a challenge for runners-up spot, but the Seagulls would need to win the majority of their remaining nine games, if not all of them, to do that.

Penrhyncoch are unbeaten in their last three games and are chasing a possible top five finish, so Bay boss Craig Hogg knows his side will have to be on top of their game to win.

He will have a near full strength squad available, however, including teenager Kian Owen who last week helped Welsh Schools U18s beat England 1-0 in the Roma Caput Mundi tournament in Italy.

The experienced Sion Edwards will be hoping to get the chance to play his first game in eight weeks after his three match suspension, following a red card on New Years Day, has been elongated by four league postponements due to the weather.
