Volunteering Opportunities

All 3 will be concentrating on recruiting Volunteer Telephone Befrienders in the first instance with the hope the volunteers in the future can take on a more involved role and be doing home visits.

Home Start Conwy are looking for volunteers to give family support, ideally have experience with parenting skills. Online training will be given or if preferred a paper portfolio can be delivered.

The Scheme provides a unique service recruiting and training volunteers who, in turn, offer support to parents with young children in their own homes and in group sessions. Demand for Home-Start services is greatest in areas where families experience socio-economic hardship and/or feel socially isolated

Centre of Sign-Sight-Sound in partnership with Action on Hearing Loss are supporting people with any degree of sensory loss, training will be given. Through skype/video calls. They will provide a bespoke accessible COVID-19 Information Advice and Assistance service to all members of the Community, providing one to one support; and have received 35 CV-19 queries this month so far ranging from online shopping issues to advice re travel insurance.

Creating Enterprise are looking for Community Wellbeing Support Volunteers to keep in contact with Cartrefi Independent Living Age Tenants. Ideally they are looking to recruit volunteers who already have a current valid DBS check.
If you have some time to spare to make wellbeing calls to elderly, vulnerable and isolated tenants or even pick up their shopping and prescriptions, why not sign up to become one of our Wellbeing Volunteers? If you’d like to help support your community through these challenging times, no matter what your circumstances, we’d love to hear from you.
