The National Lottery Community Fund continues to support people and communities through COVID-19. Grants have been expanded to help communities across Wales look positively to the future.
Recently, Eirian Jones from Llanfair Talhaiarn has been appointed as a Funding Officer to support communities in Conwy and district with applying for these grants.
Eirian has over twenty years’ experience working in the third sector; most of this time in the county of Conwy.
She worked for Menter Iaith Conwy for twelve years and nearly three years for Community and Voluntary Support Conwy based in Colwyn Bay. She also recently worked as a Development Manager for Cywain (Menter a Busnes) supporting food and drink producers in Conwy, Gwynedd and Powys.
Starting in her new post, Eirian Jones said, “I’m really looking forward to working with community groups in the area where I was born and bred, and where I still live with my family.
“I will be here to share information with the local community about the grants available, and to support them in applying for these grants.
“Last year £31 million was distributed in 850 grants to charities and communities across Wales, thanks to money raised by National Lottery players. This money really does make a difference to the lives of so many across the length and breadth of Wales.”
Grants are available to support organisations and charities to adapt, recover and thrive through the following programmes: National Lottery Awards for All - up to £10,000 for a range of community projects, including projects responding to the COVID-19 pandemic; and People and Places programmes - up to £500,000 for communities to work together to have positive impacts on the things that matter to them.
The National Lottery Community Fund will fund organisational development as part of the project.
