As half term begins and visitors down the North Wales coast increase, more stress gets placed on our often stretched emergency services.

It was a busy weekend for the Coastal Rescue Team according to the latest from the Llandudno Coastguard.

"Two team members carried out a local knowledge patrol, checking access routes, ensuring that we have all the necessary keys and that all locks are accessible.

"We carried out a training exercise focussing on searching for missing persons, casualty care and stretcher handling techniques.

"On Sunday afternoon, together with our friends from Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation, we were called out to assist Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust with a medical emergency on the Great Orme."

The coastguard teams across North Wales have dedicated volunteers who are on call 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

If you are aware of anyone in danger or distress anywhere around the coast please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
