More than 30 vehicles have been stopped and drivers issued with tickets or graduated fixed penalty notices following a road safety operation across North Wales.
A new phase of Operation Tramline took place earlier this month on the A55, A483 and A494, using an elevated HGV cab to give police officers a better view into vehicles.
The operation is designed to identify dangerous driving behaviour which can be difficult to spot from a conventional police vehicle.
Officers detected a range of offences, including drivers using mobile phones while behind the wheel, failing to wear seatbelts and vehicles carrying insecure loads.
Police say they continue to see mobile phone use among drivers of larger vehicles, including HGVs and LGVs.
They warned that using a phone while driving can put the driver and other road users at risk, particularly when the driver is in control of a large or heavy vehicle.
Officers said it was disappointing to continue seeing people putting themselves and others in danger through behaviour which could easily be avoided.
They are reminding drivers that their attention should remain on the road, with calls, messages and notifications able to wait until they have stopped somewhere safe.
