RGC have confirmed that former England full-back Jon Callard will continue as Head Coach for the remainder of the Super Rygbi Cymru season.
Callard originally came in during the summer pre-season period to support both the Senior Academy and SRC player groups.
Next up for Jon Callard and his side will be Saturday’s test against league leaders Ebbw Vale at Stadiwm Eirias.
Coming off the back of a win against Bridgend, the team are looking to keep the momentum going.
Callard, who grew up near Newport, South Wales, enjoyed a distinguished playing career with Bath, amassing 2,087 points in 210 appearances, and was capped by England.
Coaching-wise, his CV includes senior roles at Bath, Leeds Tykes and the England Academy.
RGC General Manager, Alun Pritchard, said: “Jon has proven experience, and I’ve been extremely impressed with how he has brought a real togetherness to the squad. The performances have been promising, and I look forward to the continued development of our young players as we aim to build on the foundations that have already been put in place.”
Callard added: “I’m really enjoying my time here in North Wales, and I’m delighted to be staying until the end of the season. I like the concept of what Super Rygbi Cymru is about and what we’re trying to achieve here for the rugby talent in this region. The squad have been great and our challenge now is to climb the league table.”
