Unpaid carers across the region are being encouraged to share their experiences and help shape the future of support services by taking part in the annual State of Caring Survey.
The call has come from Clwyd MS Darren Millar, who is urging carers in his constituency to take part in the survey, which is run by Carers UK.
The State of Caring Survey is the UK’s largest annual survey of unpaid carers, gathering evidence about the realities of caring, the challenges people face, and the support they need.
The findings are used to help influence policymakers, shape services and improve support for unpaid carers across Wales and the UK.
Darren Millar said unpaid carers make an “invaluable contribution” to families, communities and the wider health and social care system, but often face significant challenges without receiving enough recognition.
He said: “Unpaid carers make an invaluable contribution to families, communities and the wider health and social care system, but too often face significant challenges with little recognition.
“By completing the State of Caring Survey, unpaid carers can help highlight the realities of caring and influence the support and services that carers need.
“Whether you care for a family member, friend, or neighbour, your voice can help shape future policies and improve support for carers across the UK.
“I therefore urge people to take part in the survey, which only takes a few minutes to complete, and to also share it with other carers in their network.
“Together, we can ensure carers' voices are heard.”
The State of Caring Survey 2026 takes around 30 minutes to complete and is open until Sunday, August 9th.
