Community projects across Conwy are set to benefit from almost £1.5 million of funding through the Pride in Place Impact Fund.
The money will support projects aimed at improving local facilities, bringing vacant buildings back into use and creating better public spaces across towns and villages in the county.
Successful bids were submitted by community organisations and businesses looking to address local needs, support town centre regeneration and strengthen community facilities.
Projects receiving funding include improvements to community buildings, upgraded play areas, enhanced green spaces and the reopening of important local facilities.
Claire Hughes, MP for Bangor Aberconwy, said the fund was about supporting projects that local people know will make the biggest difference to their communities.
She highlighted projects including the expansion of a community hub in Penmaenmawr, the reopening of public toilets in Cerrigydrudion, and improvements to play parks and green spaces in Betws-yn-Rhos.
Cllr Sharon Doleman, Conwy County Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy and Communications, said the funding would allow organisations to make visible improvements in their communities.
She said: “I’m delighted that these projects will be able to do vital work in, and with, our communities to make visible improvements to public and community spaces. I wish them all every success.”
Gill German, MP for Clwyd North, said the funding would help deliver improvements to high streets and places that are important to local communities.
She said she looked forward to seeing work begin and the positive impact the projects would have across the area.
All projects supported by the Pride in Place Impact Fund must be completed by March 31st, 2027.
