Motorists travelling through Abergele are being warned of a temporary road closure as work to upgrade gas pipes continues in the area.
Wales & West Utilities has agreed with Conwy County Borough Council to close part of A547 Bridge Street between the junctions of Plas Newydd and Llys Gate from October 23 until November 1.
A clearly signposted diversion will be in place, with access maintained where possible. Drivers are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys.
The closure is planned during the school half-term holiday to help minimise disruption. From November 2, the road will reopen, but temporary traffic lights will remain in place until November 20 while work continues.
Wales & West Utilities says the upgrades are necessary to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to homes and businesses across the area.
Adam Smith, who is managing the work, has urged motorists to follow traffic management signs to help keep traffic moving and protect workers.
The company has apologised for any inconvenience, saying the improvements will help maintain a resilient gas network for years to come.
Further information is available at Wales & West Utilities.
Anyone who smells gas or suspects carbon monoxide should call the National Gas Emergency number on 0800 111 999, which operates 24 hours a day.
