North Wales Police are continuing to pursue people who commit offences of violence against women and girls in North Wales.

Throughout September, 131 positive outcomes were made in North Wales against those suspected to have committed offences. A positive outcome means action taken by police once an incident has been reported to us and someone has been arrested.

This could include several outcomes, for example a charge, a caution, a community resolution.

Last month, out of the 131 outcomes, a total of 102 charges were made. In addition seven cautions and 21 community resolutions were issued, which is where the offender accepts responsibility or makes some form of reparation.
Of all the positive outcomes, 61% (80 offences) were domestic related.

Nearly 40% were of incidents of violence which resulted in physical injury, while a quarter related to offences of stalking and harassment.

Just over 5% of the positive outcomes were offences of sexual violence and 10% involved making threats that something more serious may happen. Three offences where action has been taken related to revenge pornography.

This report is part of a monthly update to highlight the work being done to tackle violence against women and girls in North Wales.
