It's been another busy week for Llandudno Coastal Rescue Team with multiple incidents to deal with.
On Wednesday they were initially called out to Penmaenmawr along with Bangor Coastguard Rescue Team - North Wales to assist the Welsh Ambulance Services University NHS Trust to evacuate a casualty with a dislocated knee from the beach.
As the team was returning from Penmaenmawr they were called to West Shore, Llandudno, regarding some people being stranded on the sand banks. On arrival, a thorough check was made of the area but the Coastguard was unable to find anyone in any difficulties.
As they were completing checks, they received a call about a Pan Pan message received at the Great Orme aerial mast. A Pan Pan call is made by a vessel with a serious but not immediately life-threatening problem.
A spokesperson explained; "Together with our friends from Conwy Lifeboat, we made a thorough search of the coast around the Great Orme but were unable to identify any vessels in distress.
"As we were descending the Orme towards West Shore, we saw some people on the rapidly disappearing sand banks. Two members of our team, supported by Conwy Lifeboat made their way out to warn them regarding the rapidly in-coming tide. Two different groups were escorted from the sand banks just before they were covered."
If you are ever aware of anyone in danger or distress anywhere around the coast, then please call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.
