Former Colwyn Bay pupil and Drag Race winner dies aged 32

Former RuPaul's Drag Race UK winner James Lee Williams, known as The Vivienne, has sadly passed away at the age of 32.

James, who was born in Colwyn Bay was a former pupil of Rydal Penrhos School, and a beloved and talented individual. He was a pupil between 2003 and 2008.

The family has requested privacy during this difficult time and will not be releasing any further details.

James will be remembered for the wonderful things he achieved in his life and the support he gave to the local area.

RuPaul's Drag Race judge Michelle Visage said she was totally heartbroken at the news of James' death. The beloved drag queen from Colwyn Bay who won the first series of the show in 2019.

RuPaul also expressed his heartbreak on Instagram, joining the drag community in mourning the loss of The Vivienne.
