Andy Coughlin is line to make his 50th competitive appearance for Colwyn Bay in tomorrow's away game at Holyhead Hotspur (July 27).

The former Wrexham keeper made his Bay debut away to Trafford in October 2018 and, despite some injury setbacks, has been the club's first choice  goalkeeper  since then - keeping another clean sheet in the opening league game of the new season  last Friday.

Seagulls boss Craig Hogg says his side will again have to step up to the challenge when they visit Holyhead's New Oval stadium in their second game of the JD Cymru North season.

Holyhead lost 1-0 at Airbus UK Broughton, but although they also lost to Bangor City in the Nathaniel MG Cup, Hotspur won all seven of their pre-season games, against lower league opposition, scoring 21 goals in the process.

“It’s another massive challenge,” Craig said ahead of Tuesday’s game.

“Whoever we play, whether it’s home or it’s away, we have to step up and we have to play the way we play but have to be ready for blood and thunder from everybody else. Holyhead are a good side and it is a difficult place to go and play football.

“I’m sure it will be another close period of football like we saw on Friday night so it’s up to use to try and impose ourselves and get a result.”

Holyhead’s squad includes striker Callum Parry, who joined the Bay from Llanrwst in January 2020 before the season ended early, and scored five times in the pre-season games.
