Staff at Avanti West Coast are set to go on strike impacting on services into and out of North Wales on New Year's Eve.
The RMT union announced that Train Managers on the franchise will initially strike on New Year's Eve and January 2nd after failing to settle the dispute. More strikes are planned in January until the spring.
Around 400 union members are involved with 83% voting against the proposed deal.
The previous strikes around Christmas were suspended after a suggested agreement was put to a referendum. This was subsequently rejected by members resulting in the reinstatement of strike action from January onwards.
