Conwy County's 2025 expression of interest to become UK City of Culture 2025 has been submitted.

The document details the benefits to the community and says: "Conwy 2025 will pioneer a community-driven approach. UK City of Culture is all about you; what culture means to you, what you are passionate about, how can culture make a difference to you and your community."

The council are inviting you to help play a part in driving the bid. They want to hear from you to help plan playful, adventurous and accessible events. Give your insight on the special qualities, challenges and local creative talent on where you live.

Conwy 2025 will be developing lots of volunteering opportunities. So, if you aren’t sure how you want to be involved yet, join the mailing list to be kept up to date.

Partnership will be key to the success of Conwy 2025. There are a fantastic number of influential partners on board, who have helped shape the bid and will integrate the opportunities and ideas to further develop Conwy 2025.

Penderyn’s CEO, Stephen Davies recently said “Penderyn would stand by Conwy County Borough Council as partners with the people, organisations and businesses working to create exceptional cultural events and activities throughout 2025”.

Core to Conwy 2025 is the aspiration to build on Conwy’s Culture Strategy vision for a representative and resilient network to support cultural life up to and beyond 2025.

Conwy 2025 will bring the community together and aims to unite community leaders, creatives, community arts organisations, local business, transport, and, crucially, local residents through its culture.

Conwy County Borough Council’s Leader, Cllr Charlie McCoubrey said “Conwy 2025 will create a spark within our communities which will lead to economic growth, wellbeing and connection.”
