Colwyn Bay FC are pleased to announce that forward Owen Davies has joined the Bay ahead of the new season.

The 20-year_old returns to the Bay having been part of the Academy before spells with The New Saints and at Denbigh Town.

“It’s good to be back,” Owen said.

“Being a local lad, coming down and seeing a few games when I was younger, to be a part of the set-up, I’m just really excited to push on and see how the boys get on as well.”

Owen had trials with Everton before joining The New Saints academy before signing a professional contract in the summer of 2023 and appeared for the Saints in a Nathaniel MG Cup tie against Porthmadog.

“It was sort of like a foundation for me in terms of building up knowledge of the game and then especially straight into men’s football,” Owen added.

“It’s like a stepping stone coming back.”

Owen joined Denbigh Town on loan in January 2024 – 10 goals in 15 appearances – before making the move permaenent that summer.

Last season he scored 16 goals in 30 games in the JD Cymru North and contributed seven assists.

He was shortlisted for the JD Cymru North Young Player of the Season.

“It was a good eye opener to see what the level was like and to test myself and push myself forward.

“So to get that year under my belt was good and especially to get the nomination at the end of it as well.”

Mike Wilde said: “Owen has not only impressed during pre-season games and training sessions on the pitch but his maturity and attitude towards wanting to develop and the understanding of being around this competitive environment with experienced players and coaches, and wanting to learn and develop is really refreshing for a young player.

“We are very excited and look forward to working with Owen this season.”
