As the weather heats up across the North Wales coast, there's a warning on the risk of discarding disposable barbecues after use.

In the early hours of this morning a fire was caused to the outside of properties on Wynnstay Road, Colwyn Bay by a carelessly discarded disposable barbecue.

Firefighters were also called to a fire on Kings Avenue, Llandudno caused by a disposable barbecue and a fire in Treaddur Bay caused by hot coals placed in a bin.

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue said: "Once you have finished cooking on your disposable barbecue, please make sure that you extinguish it properly, and leave ashes to cool completely before disposing of them."
