Colwyn Bay manager Steve Evans says planning and preparations for next season are in full swing.

Bay ended the 2021-22 JD Cymru North campaign with a 1-1 draw at Conwy Borough on Good Friday and the focus is now on next season.

“It’s probably one of the busiest periods,” said Steve, who was appointed manager in January.

“When I came in I had a length of time to have a look and get settled in, which was good.

“It was a learning curve for myself, the players, the club and the fans.

“Now we’re putting things in place for the new season. “

Bay finished sixth in the JD Cymru North with the season’s highlight reaching the Welsh Cup semi-final, narrowly losing 1-0 to Cymru Premier champions The New Saints.

“I was pleased with how we finished the season,” Steve added.

“We had a fantastic start when  I first came in and then we had four games that we lost

“I learnt more from losing in those four games than the rest of the period.

“After the TNS game we then went on another run which was good to see because they showed that they’ve got that grit and determination that you need as a football team and the togetherness as a squad.

“We’ll be looking to take that into the pre-season.”
