Colwyn Bay has once again been awarded RHS Gold by Britain in Bloom.
The Award was presented by TV presenters Frances Tophill and James Alexander-Sinclair in a glittering awards ceremony that took place in Manchester on Monday afternoon.
Ingrid Lewis, Chair of Colwyn in Bloom said; “Colwyn Bay has had the honour to be nominated to represent Wales in the Britain in Bloom competition on numerous occasions and has always done well.
“This year the town has had the immense privilege of being awarded a RHS Gold Award for the second time in its history. To receive a RHS Gold Award is the mecca of horticultural and environmental excellence. There is no higher accolade that the town can be given. It truly is a big deal!!
“It is testament to the hard work and sheer effort undertaken by the wider community, voluntary groups, individuals, schools, local authority and the Colwyn in Bloom Committee.”
This prestigious award follows on from the winning Gold Award presented to the town by Wales in Bloom earlier this month.
The Mayor of the Bay of Colwyn, Councillor Ricky Owen said “This is an incredible but well-deserved honour for the town of Colwyn Bay and for all the people involved.”
