Bay's bonfire and fireworks event returns back to Eirias Park

November 05, 2021 - 5702 views

The annual Bonfire and Fireworks event is back in the Bay this year after its absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

From 7pm tonight (Friday 5th November), families are welcomed to Eirias Park to enjoy the display presented by Bay of Colwyn Town Council, with support from Colwyn Bay Fire Station and Conwy County Borough Council.

The bonfire will be lit at around 7.15pm with the fireworks display following at 7.30pm. Free parking is available at Eirias Park and on the Promenade. Disabled Parking will be available at Eirias Arena.

Traffic through the town is expected to be busy, so please allow plenty of time to park and walk into the park. Pedestrian entry is via the main park gates, the former Civic Centre driveway, or the Promenade.

Once again entrance is free, but there will be a cash collection on the night, with 50% being given to
the Fire Service and local charities.

Unfortunately due to ongoing social distancing requirements, no concessions will be available within Eirias Park this year and face masks will be required to enter any indoor areas including toilets.

The event will go ahead whatever the weather but if the event is cancelled on health and safety
grounds, Bayside will keep update you on the radio, on the website and on its social media channels.

The bonfire will be located outside of the boating lake again this year, due to improvement works carried out on the lake several years ago. Steps will be taken to mitigate any damage to the grass as soon as possible after the event has taken place and any remaining debris has been cleared.

Please note that fireworks (including sparklers) are not permitted within the event site.

If you have any queries about this year's event, please contact the Town Hall on 01492
