Captain Tom McCready scored in stoppage time to earn Colwyn Bay a dramatic 3-2 win at Prestatyn Town in the JD Cymru North.
McCready’s winner secured a 16th successive league victory for the Seagulls and extended their lead at the top of the table to nine points.
Cai Owen had earlier scored twice to give the Bay a 2-0 interval lead at Bastion Gardens.
His first was a first time finish from a tight angle and his second, a left footed finish, came following good work by Craig Lindfield.
Bay could have been three goals up at the break but Lindfield had a penalty well saved by Josh Cooke.
Prestatyn responded after the break and Tom Hilditch pulled a goal back three minutes into the second half before Dan Atkins levelled with 16 minutes remaining.
But McCready secured a dramatic winner in injury time when he ran onto a flick on and slotted past Cooke and maintain Bay’s winning run.
Bay manager Steve Evans said: “Massive three points. They are the games that win you the league.
“First half we were the dominant team and we could have gone 3-0 up with the penalty but didn’t and to be fair to them they came out second half and really had a go at us and caused us all kinds of problems.
“They’ll be gutted but we believe in the process and we keep going – we’ve done it two or three times this season and it just shows the belief and the character within the squad.”
