The Seagulls make a second long trip to South Wales in eight days when they face Cardiff Met University, with Stefan Edwards in line to make his 50th appearance for the club.

The 33-year-old defender, who joined the club in January 2022 and made his debut in a 0-0 draw against Llangefni, played in all but five of Bay’s games last season, scoring four goals – the most memorable being a late, late screamer to rescue a point in a 2-2 draw at Llandudno.

It would be nice if he could celebrate his 50th game by helping the Seagulls to their first league win of this campaign, but Archers will be another tough challenge as they are unbeaten so far and have yet to concede a goal.

After winning at Aberystwyth the Archers drew 0-0 at home to Bala Town last weekend and have also reached the the last 16 of the Nathaniel MG Cup with a 3-0 away victory over Taffs Well.

They’ve been in the top flight since 2016 and so are well established now. They had an excellent campaign to finish in the top four last season to qualify for the Europa Conference League play-offs – only to lose out on penalties against ultimate play-off winners Haverfordwest County.

Colwyn Bay, of course, famously beat them 1-0 in the 2021/22 Welsh Cup, but only three of the team who played for Bay that day are still with the club – and two of them are currently recovering from injury.
