Demolition work has started today at Bron y Nant and Bryn Euryn Nurseries in Rhos on Sea and is scheduled to take about 6 weeks.
The four existing buildings on the site will be demolished - with the bricks, concrete and tarmac used in the construction of the new buildings, and other materials such as timber and slates will be salvaged and recycled.
The construction of the new Disability Respite Facility with Complex Care day centre, alongside plant nurseries, café and shop is scheduled to start early next year, with completion expected in 2023.
Cllr Louise Emery, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Adult Social Services, said: “It’s good to see the demolition underway and I’m looking forward to seeing the construction work start on site.
"The new facility on the top site will offer planned respite to all Disability service users. The plant nursery with a new café and shop will be open to the public and will provide enhanced work opportunities for people with disabilities.”
