A 25-year-old man from Caernarfon, Kieran Thomas Hughes, has died after falling from a hotel balcony in Malta.
The incident took place in the early hours of Friday in St Julian's.
Kieran's father Alan Hughes thanked everyone for their kind messages but requested privacy.
Kieran, a software engineer with a promising career, was described as an inspiring son by his father.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident are currently underway.
