After a year away, running events are back and St David’s Hospice are giving you the opportunity to take part in a half marathon for free.

Running can be extremely rewarding as Hospice supporters Ian Jones and Ste Bozier recently discovered. They both took to the streets in their running shoes in the past few weeks, taking part in the iconic London Marathon and raising more than £1200 between them.

Ste Bozier, who ran in the city really enjoyed running for the Hospice said: “Race day was amazing! It couldn’t have gone any better. The weather, the support and the crowds were amazing. It was something I have never seen or experienced before and it completely blew me away!

"I supported the Hospice as I know a few people who have needed the care they provide, and I know it has been a great help to them and their family at a much-needed time.”

Ian Jones ran the 26.2miles virtually along the North Wales Coast, finishing his final mile on Llandudno promenade. Ian said:

“Running the marathon was brilliant! My legs are a bit sore but apart from that I’m great!

“The last few miles were really tough but I had loads of great support from family and friends which made it easier. I’m very happy with my time.”

Conwy Area Fundraiser James Wilde said: “We’re so thankful to Ste and Ian and grateful for all their achievements. They’re really put everything into their running challenges this year and raised a truly impressive amount for the hospice and will make a huge difference to the care we’re able to provide.”

If you would like to take on a running challenge like Ian and Ste to support your local hospice, there are two half marathons in the next couple of months.
