Coastguard appeal after seals disturbed for second time

For the second time in recent weeks, Llandudno Coastguard has been called out to reports of people interfering with the seals at Angel Bay.

On arrival of the coastguard some paddle boarders were seen on the beach near Penrhyn Bay where the seals congregate. The paddle boarders were spoken to and persuaded to leave.

A spokesperson said: "We would ask everyone to keep off the beach at Angel Bay whilst seals are present. The seals are easily scared and they can hurt each other when trying to escape from encroaching humans.

"The seals that are brave enough to hang around can inflict  a serious (bacteria ridden) bite to anyone who gets too close. Please keep your distance from wild animals around the coast."
