Colwyn Bay beach gets set for end of season spruce up

Volunteers are being sought for a good end of season litter pick on the beach in Colwyn Bay next Saturday (October 9th) in conjunction with Keep Wales Tidy and the BBC.

To celebrate the launch of the seaside litter picking hub on the sea front at the Porth Eirias building on the Colwyn Bay promenade, the team after some enthusiastic litter pickers to hit the beach with to keep the sea front looking spotless.

Staff will be there on the sand all morning as well as staff members from the hub, kitted out and ready to roll. BBC Radio Wales presenter and comedian Kiri Pritchard Mclean will even be making a special appearance to join the crew, high vis and litter picker at the ready.

Those that sign up will meet at the Porth Eirias Reception area at 10.00am on Saturday 9 October. The beach clean will run for approximately two hours.

All litter picking kit will be provided and Keep Wales Tidy's Conwy project officer Gwyl Roche will be giving a full health and safety briefing before you begin your journey.

All you need to bring is some sensible footwear, clothes, gloves and heaps of energy. What are you waiting for?
