Colwyn Bay return to JD Cymru North action tomorrow following their Welsh Cup exploits with a tough game away at unbeaten Guilsfield
Guilsfield are second in the table, four points behind leaders Airbus UK Broughton but with a game in hand while Bay are sixth.
Bay and Guilsfield both progressed to the last eight of the Welsh Cup last weekend.
Nathan Leonard’s men were 2-1 winners away at Swansea University while Bay beat Cardiff Met 1-0. They have a squad packed with experienced players, including New Zealand international Greg Draper who had 10 trophy-laden seasons with TNS and became their all-time record goalscorer.
“It’s another very important game for us and we know our trip to Powys will be a tough one,” Bay manager Craig Hogg said.
“Guilsfield have been excellent this season in all competitions and have performed very well indeed.
“Yes we go there off the back of a good result in the Welsh Cup, but there is no hangover for us as far as we are concerned.
“Our league results must be better and we know what we must do to come away with any positive result from there this weekend.”
The manager reports he still has a couple of injuries to assess before finalising his line-up, while a couple more players are down with illness.
