Colwyn Bay FC: Sam Hart leaves as play remains on hold

Sam Hart is the latest Seagulls player to leave the club in order to return to playing football.

Signed from Airbus UK in June, the 28-year-old defender has been unable to make his Bay debut due to the Cymru North shutdown and is now joining Cymru Premier side Flint Town United.

Colwyn Bay FC boss Craig Hogg commented: "Again I am happy for a player that is able to secure a move that will allow him to start playing football. Like everyone else at the club, during the past three months of training, Sam has been unconditional in his professionalism, whilst contributing greatly to our group.

"Of course it is frustrating that we won't see him play in a Bay shirt, as having worked with him before, I know what he would have brought to our football club. The hope is that will happen in the future.

"Again, it goes without saying that we support him fully in his move and wish him and Flint good fortune for their campaign."

Sam, who has represented Wales at schoolboy, Under-17 and Under-19 level, commented: "I am gutted that I haven’t been able to pull on the shirt for this great club. Both Hoggy and Covs have been first class, not only with me, but all the boys with the situation we find ourselves in.

"Allowing us to go and play football elsewhere shows how they both respect the players and I can’t thank either of them enough for how they’ve treated me in the short space of time at the Bay."
