Colwyn Bay look to extend winning run to 10 matches

Colwyn Bay are in cup action again this evening (Tuesday October 18) with a rare home tie against Holyhead Hotspur in the second round of WBS League Cup, hoping to extend their winning run in all competitions to 10 games.

Since returning to Welsh football, 10 of the 14 cup games played (in the MG Nathaniel Cup, JD Welsh Cup and WBS League Cup) have been away from home, and although that has produced some superb away days for the fans, the club has lost out financially on income generated by a home tie.

So they will be hoping for a good crowd at the 4 Crosses Arena on Tuesday as the team bid to reach the quarter-finals of the newly introduced competition which is being sponsored by the Welsh Blood Service.

Although Holyhead  are currently in the bottom three of the JD Cymru North, they have only lost two of their seven league games so far (one win and four draws) and had an excellent 4-1 win over Prestatyn Town in the last round of the WBS League Cup last month.
