Colwyn Bay overcome challenges with 4-0 away win

August 14, 2021 - 742 views

Colwyn Bay got back to winning ways with a 4-0 away success at Penrhyncoch helped by a double from skipper Tom McCready.

They led 2-0 at the breaks with goals from  McCready (30) from distance and Llyr Morris (43)  from a corner, before adding two more in the last 16 minutes,

McCready got his second of the game and then new signing Tom Creamer came off the bench to make his debut and crowned the day with Bay's fourth goal on 86 minutes after great work by Robbie Parry.

Manager Craig Hogg commented afterwards: "It was a good win on the road and I'm pleased. Penrhyncoch away is always a battle and it is a very, very tough place to go.

"The lads overcame the challenges we had today and created a number of really good chances, scoring good goals in the process.

"The professionalism and discipline the lads showed within the tactical set up we had was excellent, and they deserve full credit for that.

"In truth I'm happy with all the performances we've had since the season started, as for the majority of the games they have been really good. The difference today was that we took the chances when they came - and in ruthless fashion.

"It was great to see Llyr Morris on the scoresheet for the first time in a Bay shirt, as his performances since he joined the club have been worthy of a goal or two.

"I was also pleased to give Tommy Creamer his debut towards the end of the game. To see him pop with the fourth goal, after excellent work by Robbie Parry, was just brilliant for the young man. You could see what it meant to him at the end!"
