Seagulls boss Craig Hogg has given an update on injuries, with central defender Kristian Platt set to return to training this week.

Platt, who joined from Airbus UK Broughton during the summer, suffered the injury in July’s Nathaniel MG Cup defeat at Holywell.

“Friday’s game against Ruthin may come too soon for him but we hope he will be available for selection in the games after Ruthin,” Craig said.

“Gwion Owen isn’t too far away from returning to training, while Jordan Carrington is back in training now and he won’t be too far way in terms of his fitness.”

Midfielder Owen is yet to feature so far this campaign after suffering injury during pre-season, while defender Carrington suffered fracture to his collarbone in the loss at Holywell.

“It’s making sure that when these lads come back they’re not thrown in straight away and we have to manage them because they’ve had serious injuries,” Craig added.

Non Covid-related illnesses resulted in a couple of players missing Saturday’s defeat at Airbus UK and they will be assessed ahead of Friday’s Welsh Cup Round 3 tie at Llanelian Road.
