On this New Year's Eve, cycling enthusiasts in Ireland have taken to social media to describe one of Colwyn Bay's cycle paths as 'round the bend'.
During a light hearted exchange on Twitter, cyclists engaged with Safe Cycling Ireland to point out examples of the most badly planned cycle paths and lanes in Ireland and across the UK.
Some of the most extreme examples featured cycle paths with dangerous obstructions in the middle such as lamp posts or road signs.
Whilst discussing how badly paths were laid out, Colwyn Bay's promenade path was cited as one of the worst.
Safe Cycling Ireland said in their tongue-in-cheek response, "Drunken road engineers inhabit many places. Check out this beauty from Colwyn Bay".
Another writer who was clearly a fan of adventure sport said how much they were looking forward to riding the path...
