Colwyn Bay's Sam Hart set for 50th appearance

Sam Hart could make his 50th appearance for the Seagulls in what manager Steve Evans describes as “a massive” game at home to bottom side Pontypridd United on Saturday (January 13, 5:15pm kick-off).

Sam, who made his debut in August 2022, played a big part in helping the Bay to become Cymru North champions last season, scoring eight goals in 31 appearances and winning the Supporters Player of the Season award.

He has yet to score this campaign in 18 starts, but hopefully he can celebrate his 50th game for the club by helping the side to a much-needed win to end a run of five successive league defeats that has seen the Seagulls drop back into the relegation positions.

But with Manager Steve Evans adding four new loan signings to the squad this week, he looks certain to make changes from the team that lost so disappointingly at Aberystwyth last week.

Pontypridd, currently fighting a points deduction that has put them in relegation danger, are unbeaten in their last two games (a 2-1 win over Aberystwyth and a 0-0 away draw at Penybont) to show they have not given up on getting out of trouble, but are currently without a manager after Andrew Stokes and his assistant Danny Thomas decided to step down last week.

With the other two bottom four sides, Aberystwyth and Barry Town playing each other on Saturday, Bay really need a win to take advantage of points dropped in that fixture.
