Communities and local politicians have united today in celebration of news that local projects are to receive a much welcome boost in funding following many difficult months created by Covid and the lockdowns.
Clwyd West MS Darren Millar was one of the first to welcomed news that projects in Conwy and Denbighshire are to receive a total of £5,185,625 from the UK Government’s Community Renewal Fund.
The Community Renewal Fund – will pilot new programmes that invest in people, boost skills and support local economies.
Projects in Denbighshire will receive a total of £2,890,209, whilst those in Conwy are set to receive £2,295,416. Amongst the projects is a Conwy Tourism Innovation Hub and projects linked to the Llandudno Pier.
Welcoming the news, Mr. Millar said: “A total of £5,185,625 is an absolutely incredible investment in this part of North Wales.
“There are some fantastic organisations and projects in both Conwy and Denbighshire and I am extremely pleased that so many of them have been successful in their bids for this funding.
“Communities are trying to get back on their feet and recover from the pandemic and this money will be instrumental in helping them to achieve that.”
