Conwy county is set to mark Armistice Day this Wednesday morning.
Armistice Day is commemorated each year on 11th November to mark the armistice signed between the Allies of World War I and Germany at Compiègne, France for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front of World War I.
This took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning—the "eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month" of 1918.
Conwy County Borough Council has supported the Royal British Legion's call for a nationwide observance of a Two Minute Silence to begin at 11am on Wednesday 11th November 2020.
Cllr Abdul Khan, Chairman of Conwy County Borough Council, said "I hope others in the community, whether they are at work or at home, will join us in observing the two minutes silence.”
