Glamorous revellers danced the night away to help North Wales’s only children’s hospice raise a stunning £46,000 and mark 21 years of care.
Hosted at Caer Rhun Hall in the Conwy Valley, just a stone’s throw away from the hospice, the Tŷ Gobaith Gala Ball was held on the evening of Saturday September 20th and welcomed 180 guests for an evening of celebration, laughter and community spirit.
Sponsored by home-grown fashion brand Sisters and Seekers, with generous support from Celtic Financial Planning, Swayne Johnson Solicitors and LL Estates, the event was a true celebration of the strength and support of the local community.
Guests of honour at the black-tie event were Ffion and Barry Evans whose daughter Alaw attends the hospice for respite stays. They shared their incredible story with the audience and how the hospice has been a lifeline to them.
Celebrity greeter and comedian, Troy Hawke was on hand to surprise and humour the guests as they arrived as well as host the raffle in hilarious style.
The three course menu on the night was crafted by Outside Gourmet Catering from a larder full of fine Welsh produce donated at no cost by Harlech Foodservice, Edwards of Conwy, Poyntons Meats, Fresh & Tasty Microherbs, Snowdon Craft Beer, Cariad Gin, Barti Rum Kompass Wines, Heartease Farm and Fentimans.
Wales’s finest auctioneer, Melfyn Williams took charge of the gavel on the night and encouraged some very generous bidding on lots such as artwork created by children at Ty Gobaith, VIP shopping at Hamleys, Executive Box tickets for Wrexham AFC and a Chef at Home experience for 12 from Sorbus Catering.
The event was a labour of love for organisers Vanessa Marubbi and Sian Golding who poured months of time and effort into securing everything from the venue to the sponsors right down to the finishing touches.
They said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the Gala Ball was such an incredible success!
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful businesses and supporters who helped make this event possible.
“It was a magical evening filled with heart and hope, we are truly grateful to each and every one of you who played a part.
“You are amazing! Diolch o galon.”
