Council expresses condolences on news of Queen's death

The Chairman of Conwy County Council has expressed his condolences on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II and has invited local people to sign their Book of Condolence.
 
Councillor Ifor Glyn Lloyd made the statement on behalf of councillors and staff in the local authority.

It was also confirmed that during th period of mourning, flags will be flown at half-mast at all Council Buildings and that all ommittee meetings will be suspended during this time. 
 
Members of the public are invited to sign one of the Books of Condolence that will be opened at Bodlondeb in Conwy and Coed Pella in Colwyn Bay.
 
The Books of Condolence will be available:
 
- Monday, 9am – 5pm
- Tuesday, 9am – 7pm
- Wednesday, 9am – 5pm
- Thursday, 9am – 7pm
- Friday, 9am – 4.45pm
 
The Local Proclamation on the Accession of a new Sovereign will be made by the Chairman of the Council at 2.30pm on 11 September 2022.

On this day flags will start the day at half-mast.  Flags will then be flown from the mast-head from 11am to coincide with the reading of the Proclamation.  Flags will remain at the mast-head until 1pm the following day.
