Council joins Wales-wide effort for us to discuss how we feel

Today's Time to Talk Day is part of a nationwide drive to get people talking more openly about mental health and asks them to talk about mental health and wellbeing during the 24 hour period.

To mark the day, Conwy County Borough Council has launched its Time to Change campaign, with a series of activities, information and talk sessions all aimed at supporting staff in managing their wellbeing at work.

The Council signed the Time to Change Wales Employer pledge in 2021, joining hundreds of organisations all over the country in pledging commitment to changing how we all think and act about mental health in the workplace.

Chief Executive, Iwan Davies, said: “As an authority we’ve signed up to Time to Change Wales to build on the work that we’ve already done to support people’s mental health and wellbeing. Our staff are at the heart of everything we do, so I was proud to sign the Time to Change Wales Pledge to show our commitment to tackling mental health issues in the workplace.”

Talking is essential as one in four of us will experience a mental health problem in any given year.  We all need to work hard to break down the stigma and create supportive workplaces and communities where we can talk openly about mental health and feel empowered to seek help when we need it.

That’s why opening up the conversation about mental health problems is so important – by talking about it we can support ourselves and others.

However you do it, have a conversation about mental health.

Time to Talk Day was launched in 2014 by Time to Change, a campaign to end mental health stigma and discrimination, which was run by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness.  To find out more www.timetochangewales.org.uk.
