Thousands of young people in North Wales are getting their GCSE results today.
Conwy and Denbighshire education chiefs have sent messages of congratulations following the hard work of students and teachers this year.
Cllr Julie Fallon, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Education said: “Congratulations to Conwy’s learners on their GCSE results, and a big thank you to all the teachers, parents and carers for supporting and encouraging our young people. I wish all our students the very best of luck as they move forward in education, training and careers.”
In Denbighshire, Councillor Diane King, Cabinet Lead Member for Education, Children and Families said: “On behalf of the Council, I would like to congratulate the pupils that are receiving their GCSE results today. Today is a big day for them, and will help shape their next steps when it comes to education."
Overall Wales saw an increase in top GCSE grades, with 62.5% achieving A* to C, a 0.3% rise from last year.
New GCSEs following the reformed Curriculum for Wales will be introduced starting in September.
