Llandudno's RNLI  lifeboat crew were scrambled on Monday to rescue a person from the water near the pier.

Conditions were moderate to rough, with a strong north-westerly wind. Given the urgency and weather conditions, the decision was made to immediately launch the inshore lifeboat, supported by preparations to launch the all-weather lifeboat.

Despite rough conditions, the inshore lifeboat quickly located the casualty clinging to a pier support covered in barnacles.

The crew safely pulled the individual aboard, who had suffered cuts from the barnacles and ingested seawater.

Following the rescue, the casualty was taken to shore by ambulance and the lifeboat was made ready for further service.
