A force wide crackdown on increased criminality by North Wales Police has resulted in a number of arrests.
In a series of co-ordinated operations, warrants were executed under the Misuse of Drugs Act, stop searches were undertaken, drink / drug drivers were targeted with hundreds of motorists stopped, and several people who are the subject of Domestic Violence Prevention Orders were checked to ensure they remain compliant.
Over 120 Officers and staff from across the force’s Local Policing Service, Drone Team, Armed and Dog Alliances, as well as the Roads Crime Unit, Rural Crime Team, Special Constabulary, and the Serious and Organised Crime Unit, were involved over three days which saw a total of 44 people arrested for various offences. 16 warrants resulted in multiple seizures of Class A and B Drugs, as well as firearms and other weapons being confiscated.
Prolific shoplifters were also targeted, as were those wanted for failing to appear in court. Whilst these proactive initiatives were being carried out, our PCSO’s retained a visible presence in our local communities to engage with residents and offer reassurance and advice about keeping their properties and vehicles secure.
Assistant Chief Constable Chris Allsop said: “These activities are already done daily by officers across our force area, but occasionally we will implement an intensification initiative, in order to maximise the impact of our efforts to reduce criminality.
“From drug dealers to burglars, those who endanger people by carrying weapons or driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or narcotics, the message is loud and clear – you are not welcome in North Wales.”
