A woman from Denbigh has cycled from Caernarfon to Cardiff in honour of her late daughter who passed away at the age of 7.

Tracey Williams' daughter Sioned battled cerebral palsy and was cared for by children's hospice Tŷ Gobaith.

Tracey raised £2,780 for the hospice and finished the ride in four and a half days.

She undertook the first half of the epic cycle with her niece Katie and partner Pete but went on to finish solo with support from her husband, Elfed.

After raising a brilliant £2,780 in sponsorship, Tracey said: “It was very hard but great fun. I was spurred on by the fundraising and thought about Sioned a lot during the journey.

“There were some big climbs and long days but always beautiful scenery. From Dolgellau to Machynlleth was the toughest section.”

Tŷ Gobaith praised Tracey for her strength and thanked all sponsors for their contributions to help local children and families in need.
