The Llandudno Coastguard has already received 30 call outs this year, but many have turned out to be false alarms.
Members of the public have sometimes been mistaking driftwood and flocks of birds for boats or people in distress.
As the season begins to get underway, the Coastguard wants to remind everyone to call 999 if they see anything worrying along the coast or at sea.
A spokesperson said that it's always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to calling in a report, even if it might not be what it looks like.
