Residents in Conwy County are being reminded that Coronavirus can also effect council employees doing their day-to-day jobs and are appealing for people to take steps to minimise risk.
They have reported that refuse collectors and recycling operatives are being potentially exposed to germs on tissues and waste products discarded into green waste bins.
Conwy County Borough Council have asked residents to instead dispose of the waste in the black bins and to remove any tissues from the green bins which could be a hazard and lead to contamination.
If this isn't done, the council say there is a very real risk that the waste will not be collected.
Health experts have said today that putting discarded tissues into a sealed plastic bag before disposing in the correct bin will help minimise the risk to people passing bins on the street and council employees too.
