Motorists and motorcyclists intent at swerving the law by installing 'flip' number plates face the prospect of fines, points and the possibility of having their property seized say North Wales Police.
These 'flip' plates have been fitted as a way of avoiding speed cameras or averting being tracked during a road traffic violation or incident. Plates can be quickly hidden at the touch of a button.
A spokesperson for the force said: "If you travel into North Wales with illegal number plates, or 'flip up' plates, please expect to get stopped and reported for the offence.
"Last week we issued six traffic offence reports in Bala to motorcyclists from outside the area who had these plates on their machines.
"We all want to enjoy the roads safely and legally, however be sensible with your modifications. You have been warned."
