Drivers urged to plan ahead amid Conwy road disruption

Drivers and visitors in Conwy are being warned to expect traffic delays and parking disruption later this month due to a series of road restrictions and car park closures.

Conwy County Borough Council has confirmed that a section of Conwy Road near Conwy Bridge will be affected on May 14, 15, 26 and 27, with stop-and-go traffic management in place throughout the works.

Motorists travelling through the historic town centre are being advised to allow extra time for journeys, particularly during busy daytime periods.

The council has also confirmed that Vicarage Gardens Car Park and Morfa Bach Car Park have been privately hired between May 14 and May 27, leading to reduced access for the public during that period.

On May 21 and 22 there will be no public access at all to either car park.

Despite the restrictions, access will continue to be maintained for Tŵr Llewelyn and Ysgol Porth y Felin.

The disruption is expected to impact both residents and tourists visiting Conwy, particularly as the town enters one of its busiest periods of the year.

Drivers are being encouraged to use alternative parking facilities elsewhere in the town where possible.
