Edwards comes top in prestigious burger taste test

Many local shoppers will be the first to agree that when it comes to quality Welsh meat, Edwards of Conwy can't be beat.

And in a recent taste test the popular Conwy company have impressed judges so much so that their burgers have been voted one of the very best in the country.

In a special feature reviewing the best burgers for BBQs and garden cuisine, respected magazine Good Housekeeping rated Edwards' Quarter Pounder as the very best against other quality brands. 

In a score rating of 88 out of 100, the taste test team was full of praise for the burger.

They said: "Thick and juicy achieving an excellent sear when grilled, the caramelised meat together with the onions give this burger a wonderful sweet and savoury aroma. Rich in beefiness, the caramelised onion taste paired with the spices creates a deep and flavoursome bite our testers adored."

Edwards started life on the High Street in Conwy and has branched out in recent years to become one of the country's most respected independent food producers.

It promotes itself as proper butcher and deli and produces wholesale and export ranges from the Crwst Business Park in the town. The company has been voted Britain's Butcher's Shop of the Year on more than one occassion over the past few years.
