Colwyn Bay’s Tuesday and Saturday street market has returned say Conwy County Council proudly.
Last year the Council decided to look at ways to manage and develop Colwyn Bay market which has been an important feature in the town for over 30 years.
In March 2020, following advertising the opportunity to manage the market, the Council awarded a contract to the Artisan Market Company Ltd.
A local market will now take place every Tuesday with a range of essentials including food, hardware and homeware.
On the third Saturday of the month an Artisan market, featuring handmade arts, crafts and artisan food, will also run. The first of these Artisan markets takes place on Saturday 18 July.
Cllr Goronwy Edwards, Conwy’s Cabinet Member for Economic Development, said, “The market has been an important feature in the economy of Colwyn Bay for many years attracting both local people and those travelling to the town to visit.
"We look forward to seeing the re-launched market, and the addition of the new Artisan market, which promises to provide a vibrant offer to attract shoppers and benefit the town as a whole.”
The operation of the markets will comply with the current Covid-19 health and safety regulations and social distancing measures will be in place.
